Marvel Studios has announced a theatrical re-release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ titled ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore,’ scheduled for late September 2026. This special edition is intended to serve as a narrative bridge to ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ which premieres in December 2026.

The Encore version will include approximately four to seven minutes of additional footage, bringing the total runtime to roughly 185 minutes, compared to the original 181-minute theatrical cut. While all screenings will feature an exclusive look at ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ premium formats such as IMAX and the ‘Infinity Vision’ experience will receive an additional sneak peek. These premium screenings are subject to specific technical requirements, including high brightness standards and minimum screen widths of 45 feet.

In addition to new footage, the re-release will feature a 4K restoration and updated visual or dialogue adjustments in certain scenes. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have characterized the re-release as ‘required viewing’ to understand the progression into the next installment. Beyond its narrative purpose, the re-release presents a significant box office opportunity. With current cumulative global earnings sitting approximately $125 million behind ‘Avatar,’ the film has the potential to challenge for the title of the highest-grossing film of all time.
