Marvel Studios to re-release Avengers: Endgame: Encore with new footage

Marvel Studios is re-releasing ‘Avengers: Endgame’ in theaters under the title ‘Avengers: Endgame: Encore’ in late September 2026. This special version includes new footage designed to serve as a bridge to the upcoming film, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which is scheduled for release in December 2026.

Reports indicate that the runtime will vary depending on the screening format. Standard versions are expected to run approximately 3 hours and 3 minutes, while premium formats such as IMAX and Infinity Vision will feature extended runtimes of roughly 3 hours and 6 minutes, offering more than five minutes of additional content. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have described the re-release as ‘required viewing’ for those following the narrative progression into ‘Doomsday’.

In various regions, including Japan and the Philippines, special promotional items such as reversible posters are being distributed to attendees. The re-release aims to capitalize on the original film's massive success while building momentum for the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
