Marvel Studios announces ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ theatrical re-release
Marvel Studios has announced the theatrical re-release of its 2019 blockbuster, titled ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’, scheduled to arrive in cinemas globally around late September 2026. This special edition is designed to serve as a narrative bridge to the upcoming film, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which is set for release in December 2026.
The ‘Encore’ version will feature approximately four to seven minutes of additional footage not seen in the original theatrical cut. While all screenings will include an exclusive look at ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, premium formats such as IMAX and Disney’s ‘Infinity Vision’ will receive an additional, exclusive sneak peek. These premium screenings are characterized by specific technical requirements, including minimum screen widths of 45 feet and high brightness standards.
Beyond the new footage, the re-release includes technical enhancements such as 4K restoration and updated visual or dialogue adjustments in certain scenes. The event aims to build momentum for the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with directors Joe and Anthony Russo noting the natural progression between the two films.
