Avenida Brasil 2: Cast members discuss the upcoming Globo sequel

Details are emerging regarding the upcoming sequel to the hit Brazilian telenovela ‘Avenida Brasil’, scheduled to premiere on Globo in January 2027. Actress Leticia Isnard, who played Ivana in the original 2012 production, expressed surprise at the announcement of a continuation, noting that such a sequel is unprecedented for a ‘nine o’clock soap opera’.

Isnard suggested that the new plot will reflect a significantly changed Brazilian landscape compared to the original, citing shifts in social dynamics, political polarization, and religious intolerance. She anticipates her character will have matured and become more streetwise in the fifteen years since the original story concluded.

Meanwhile, actress Isis Valverde, known for her role as Suelen, stated she has not yet received an official invitation to participate in the sequel. Despite this, she expressed enthusiasm for watching the production and remains open to future opportunities.
