Aviation expansion grows in Tirana and Belgrade-Montenegro routes

Tirana International Airport (TIA) is expanding its international network, connecting passengers to over 100 direct destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Notable routes include a new direct connection between Albania and Toronto, Canada, as well as flights to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Santander, Spain, Parma, Italy, Vilnius, Lithuania, and Berlin, Germany.

In the regional aviation sector, Air Serbia has announced a significant increase in traffic to Montenegro for the 2026/27 winter season. The airline will operate a total of 42 weekly flights between Belgrade and the Montenegrin cities of Podgorica and Tivat. Specifically, the Belgrade-Tivat route will see 21 weekly flights, representing a record frequency for the winter season.

Combined with Air Montenegro, which plans 14 weekly flights to Podgorica and 10 to Tivat, a total of 66 weekly flights will be offered between Serbia and Montenegro. This follows a period of growth in 2025, where passenger numbers on routes between Belgrade and Montenegro increased by 6.6 percent.
