Aviation MRO capabilities expand in Singapore
Aviation service providers are expanding their maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities in Singapore to better serve the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.
Safran Landing Systems has inaugurated an expansion of its MRO center in Singapore with a $22 million investment supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board. The 7,500-square-meter extension includes a new assembly line for landing gear overhauls, supporting aircraft families such as the Airbus A320, A330, A350, A380, and Boeing 737 and 787. The expansion is expected to create nearly 100 new jobs by 2030 and features sustainable infrastructure, including 800 solar panels.
Separately, Acron Aviation has announced a five-year extension of its Authorized Repair Center agreement with Thales Singapore. This agreement expands regional support to include ACSS surveillance products, such as T3CAS. The facility will provide in-region repair and overhaul services for operators and MROs throughout the Asia-Pacific region, reducing the need for customers to seek support from outside the area.
