Avignon Festival’s “Aube des questions” and IVE K‑pop Show Highlight Cultural Performances

The Avignon Festival opened its latest program with the early‑morning performance “L’Aube des questions” in the courtyard of the Palais des Papes. Directed by Tiago Rodrigues and coordinated with historian Patrick Boucheron and journalist Aurélie Charon, the event featured a mix of artists, scientists, philosophers and public figures—including Christiane Taubira, Boris Charmatz and Laure Adler—to create a space for questioning and democratic debate. The symbolic 5 a.m. start underscored the themes of renewal and openness.

South Korean girl group IVE staged a high‑energy concert at Montreal’s Centre Bell on 23 July as part of its “SHOW WHAT I AM” world tour. The performance combined music, choreography, fashion and elaborate visual production, emphasizing the group’s artistic identity and its connection with fans (the DIVE). Members Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz and Leeseo showcased powerful stagecraft, synchronized dance and solo segments that highlighted individual talent within the collective show.
