Aviva Investors launches tokenized fund on XRP Ledger

Aviva Investors has launched a tokenized share class of its US Dollar Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) in collaboration with Ripple. Approved by the Central Bank of Ireland, this move represents the asset manager’s first venture into fund tokenization and serves as an operational follow-through on a partnership established in February 2026. The tokenized class acts as a digital twin to the existing European UCITS money market fund, with on-chain tokens mirroring a conventional book-entry register that is reconciled daily. These tokens are not freely transferable and are restricted to eligible investors with digital wallets.

Separately, seven U.S. spot XRP ETFs have collectively locked up approximately 992.5 million XRP, attracting over $1.5 billion in inflows since August 2026. Despite this institutional capital entry, the XRP price has remained volatile, fluctuating between $1.01 and $1.12. Analysts note that if ETF issuers acquire XRP through over-the-counter markets rather than spot exchanges, the direct impact on market buying pressure may be limited.
