AVM introduces Wi-Fi 7 routers and network-wide ad blocking

AVM is expanding its FRITZ! ecosystem with new hardware and software features. At IFA 2026, the company showcased new Wi-Fi 7 routers, including the FRITZ!Box DSL/Fiber 7-90, which supports triband WLAN with speeds up to 12.2 GBit/s and 2.5-Gigabit ports. The lineup includes specialized models for XGS-PON fiber, cable connections, and 5G options for locations without fixed-line access.

In addition to hardware updates, AVM is introducing enhanced security and usability through FRITZ!OS. A new feature currently in beta via FRITZ!OS 8.40 allows users to block advertisements and trackers across all devices in a home network, such as smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs, by using DNS filter lists directly within the router.
