AVM launches FRITZ!Box 7630 Wi‑Fi 7 router in Germany
AVM has released the FRITZ!Box 7630, a Wi‑Fi 7 router that supports DSL, VDSL and super‑vectoring up to 300 Mbit/s and delivers Wi‑Fi speeds of up to 2 880 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band. The device features a 2.5 Gbit/s WAN/LAN port, three Gigabit LAN ports, a USB 3.0 interface, DECT base for six cordless phones and integrated smart‑home support. It can be set up via the MyFRITZ! app on a smartphone or tablet and is priced at €299.
Telecom provider 1&1 will use the FRITZ!Box 7630 as the hardware basis for its new HomeServer+ standard router, replacing the previous FRITZ!Box 7530ax. The model will be offered to both private and business customers, with a monthly surcharge of €6.99 for new subscribers and discounted upgrade terms for existing users. AVM also confirmed that the router will receive updates directly from the manufacturer.
The launch follows Vodafone’s earlier exclusive distribution, and the FRITZ!Box 7630 is now available on the open market. It targets consumers seeking higher‑speed streaming, gaming and smart‑home connectivity, while also providing telephone functions via DECT, IP/SIP and an analog line.
