AVM releases FRITZ!OS 8.25 firmware for nine Fritz!Box models, 8.26 for one
In July AVM rolled out a new firmware wave for its Fritz!Box home‑router line. Nine models – including the 5690 Pro, 7632, 7630, 4690, 4060, 6860 5G, 6850 5G, 6850 5G v2, 6850 LTE, and 6825 LTE – receive FRITZ!OS 8.25, while the Fritz!Box 7510 is upgraded to FRITZ!OS 8.26. The update focuses on stability and usability: mesh connections between routers and repeaters now automatically select the most reliable link, aiming to cut Wi‑Fi outages; a new online monitor displays per‑device internet usage; and the child‑control interface is streamlined. It also resolves known bugs such as Wi‑Fi‑7 registration issues, 5 GHz channel‑bandwidth limits, and several errors in the monitor, NAS sharing and home‑network management. The 8.26 build further fixes a speed problem observed on the 7510 model. Additional features include file‑sharing via Fritz!NAS and, on the 6850 5G v2, VoLTE/VoNR telephone capabilities through a SIM‑based line.
