AVM releases FRITZ!OS 8.25 for FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro

AVM has made the FRITZ!OS 8.25 firmware update available for its flagship FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro router after a laboratory testing phase. The rollout adds 24 changes, chiefly bug fixes for WLAN performance, bandwidth reservation, upload speed in certain Wi‑Fi configurations, and inaccurate network‑overview entries. It also removes spurious switch listings and corrects device‑name assignments.

The update introduces a redesigned online monitor, a clearer child‑protection UI, an energy‑saving Ethernet option, a simple NAS‑share feature, expanded Smart‑Home routine controls, and a "FRITZ! Failsafe" that switches to a backup connection (e.g., a mobile‑stick) when the primary line fails. Additional enhancements include an improved mesh‑selection algorithm, Slovenian added as a system language, and the elimination of a required reboot after changing country or language settings.
