AVM releases FRITZ!OS 8.50 update for multiple FRITZ!Box models

AVM has begun rolling out the FRITZ!OS 8.50 software update for several FRITZ!Box router models. The update introduces new features focused on network stability, security, and user convenience.

A key addition is automatic prioritization, which allows the router to recognize in real-time when specific endpoints, such as those used for video conferencing, require a more stable connection. The update also includes a DNS filter, failsafe and kill-switch mechanisms for enhanced security, and improved diagnostic functions via the MyFRITZ! app.

As of late October, the update has been released for the FRITZ!Box 7690, 5630, 5690, and 7530 AX. Additional models, including the 5690 Pro, 5590 Fiber, and various 7590 AX and 6690 series routers, are currently being tested in the FRITZ!Lab for future deployment.
