AVM releases FritzOS updates for FritzRepeater and FritzBox models

AVM has released several software updates for its networking hardware. The FritzOS 8.26 update is now officially available for the FritzRepeater 2700 and FritzRepeater 1700, both of which support Wi-Fi 7.

A key feature of this release is “intelligent networking,” which allows mesh repeaters to independently re-evaluate their WLAN connections. Devices will now automatically check if a direct connection to the FritzBox or a connection via another repeater provides better quality following a restart or network changes. Additionally, the update introduces single sign-on for user interfaces and simplifies the initial setup process.

Separately, new beta versions of FritzOS 8.50 have been released for seven FritzBox models, including the 7630, 5690 Pro, 5690 XGS, 5590 Fiber, 6690 Cable, 6670 Cable, and 6660 Cable. While most of these updates focus on general system stability, the update for the FritzBox 7630 includes specific fixes for Easybell mobile connection stability and resolves network issues involving Amazon devices.
