AVM rolls out FritzApp Smart Home update and details FritzBox password recovery options

AVM released a new update for its FritzApp Smart Home Android app, fixing a problem that caused error messages when loading energy‑statistics data and adding unspecified stability and detail improvements. The update, currently limited to Android devices, replaces the previous "Open" button in the Google Play Store with an "Update" button.

AVM also provided a step‑by‑step guide for users who have forgotten their FritzBox router password. The quickest method uses a MyFritz account to receive a password‑reset email. If no MyFritz account exists, users can employ the router’s internal Push‑Service to request a reset email, provided the service was previously configured. As a last resort, the router can be reset to factory settings, which erases all custom configurations unless a backup was made, after which the default password printed on the device can be used to set up the router again.
