AVM rolls out Fritz!OS 8.25 and 8.24 updates for Fritz!Box routers

AVM released Fritz!OS 8.25 for the FRITZ!Box 7510 and FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber, moving them out of the preview stage. The update adds a revised child‑control schedule UI for small displays, more detailed fail‑over status, improved browser compatibility, IPv6 support for fail‑over and primary connections, a new SSL.com root certificate for DNS‑over‑TLS, and fixes for several issues such as child‑control profile lockout, bandwidth reservation, priority‑rule handling, WAN status display, incomplete IPv6 addresses in WireGuard listings, remote‑access prerequisites, UPnP/TR‑064 port‑forwarding behavior, and static‑IP device status. It also includes general stability enhancements.

In a separate batch, AVM made Fritz!OS 8.24 beta available for seven other Fritz!Box models (5690, 6860 5G, 6850 5G, 6850 5G v2, 6850 4G, 6850 LTE, 6825 4G). This update mainly improves system stability and resolves a Wi‑Fi‑based internet‑access problem on the 6825 4G and 6850 4G when the SSID is changed. Users can install the firmware via the router’s web interface or download it from AVM’s Lab website, and a backup of settings is advised.
