Avnet and University of Hong Kong launch EMUS Lab for AI innovation
Avnet and The University of Hong Kong (HKU) have officially opened the Emerging Microelectronics and Ubiquitous Systems Lab (EMUS Lab) to accelerate the commercialization of AI hardware. Located at the Data Technology Hub in Tseung Kwan O InnoPark, the lab aims to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application.
The facility focuses on next-generation technologies, including edge AI, physical AI, robotics, high-performance computing, and emerging microelectronics. By integrating research with engineering expertise and global supply chain capabilities, the lab provides startups and innovators with access to GPU computing resources, prototyping support, and manufacturability assessments. This collaboration seeks to facilitate the transition of breakthrough AI concepts into scalable, market-ready physical products.
