Avocado export seasons shift from Peru and South Africa to Chile

The global avocado export market is undergoing a seasonal transition. Export seasons in Peru and South Africa are nearing completion, with British importer Worldwide Fruit expecting the final shipments from Peru to arrive within three to four weeks.

According to ProHass, Peru's total avocado export volume is projected to be 1.9% lower than the previous year. While the season began with a high proportion of smaller fruit, quality improved as the season progressed, with recent volumes showing better sizing in the large and extra-large categories.

In South Africa, the season in KwaZulu-Natal is also in its final stages. Despite heavy rainfall at the start of the season, the harvest has been considered successful, though logistics remain a challenge due to frequent shipping delays and vessel omissions at London Gateway. Meanwhile, the new Chilean avocado season has already begun loading.
