Turkey's vehicle registrations exceed 34.5 million in June
Turkey’s total number of motorised road vehicles reached 34,545,132 by the end of June 2026, a 6.7 % increase compared with the same month a year earlier. In June, 194,740 new vehicles were registered, up 22 % month‑on‑month, with motorcycles accounting for 49.4 % of new registrations and cars 37.8 %. The overall vehicle fleet now consists of 51.7 % cars, 21.5 % motorcycles, 14.4 % light trucks, 6.8 % tractors and smaller shares of trucks, minibusses, buses and special‑purpose vehicles. Regional data show İzmir’s total fleet at 2,155,468 vehicles, with 11,481 new registrations in June (25.2 % month‑on‑month); motorcycles made up 51.2 % of the new registrations. Ankara’s vehicle fleet stands at 3,103,851, while Sinop recorded 87,412 vehicles, where motorcycles comprised 69.8 % of the month’s new registrations. Vehicle transfers remained high, with 941,964 vehicles changing ownership in June. Renault was the most frequently newly registered car brand, representing 20.5 % of the 73,665 cars added to the register.
