Awentami Paul Afoko pitches data‑driven plan to boost Ghana's NPP ahead of 2028 elections

Awentami Paul Afoko, a hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) national chairmanship, urged the party to shift from guesswork to a research‑driven strategy. Speaking to the NPP Minority Caucus in Accra, he said the party’s survival into the 2028 election hinges on strategic planning, data‑backed decision‑making and sharper communication.

Afoko highlighted that the NPP currently holds 87 parliamentary seats and must first protect those before seeking expansion. He called for investment in polling, focus groups and rapid feedback systems to gauge voter sentiment, arguing that modern elections are won on intelligence, not instinct. The proposal forms part of his broader political blueprint, which seeks party‑wide support to create a united, informed and disciplined NPP capable of regaining lost ground.

The plan emphasizes constituency‑by‑constituency analysis, targeted messaging and disciplined communication to reconnect with Ghanaian voters and secure a stronger mandate in future elections.
