AWS launches Graviton4‑based EC2 instances in Europe, Africa, Asia and Canada
Amazon Web Services announced that its new Graviton4‑powered EC2 instance families are now generally available in additional regions. The C8g compute‑optimized instances launched in AWS Europe (Paris), AWS Africa (Cape Town), AWS Israel (Tel Aviv) and AWS Canada West (Calgary). They offer up to 30% higher performance than Graviton3‑based instances, up to three times more vCPUs and memory, and up to 50 Gbps networking.
The I8g storage‑optimized instances became available in AWS Europe (Paris) and Asia Pacific (Jakarta). Built for I/O‑intensive workloads, they provide up to 65% better real‑time storage performance per terabyte and significantly lower latency compared with previous generations. Both families run on the AWS Nitro System, which offloads virtualization, storage and networking to dedicated hardware for improved performance and security.
