Axel Disasi joins Crystal Palace on season-long loan from Chelsea

Crystal Palace has announced the season-long loan signing of French defender Axel Disasi from Chelsea for the 2026/27 season. The 28-year-old centre-back, who has five senior caps for France, joins the Eagles to seek regular playing time after falling out of favour at Chelsea.

Disasi, who originally joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2023 for approximately €45 million, has previously spent time on loan at Aston Villa and West Ham. The move is part of a squad reshaping effort by Palace manager Pierre Sage and a roster trimming exercise for Chelsea.

Palace chairman Steve Parish welcomed the addition, citing Disasi’s experience and calibre as valuable assets for the club. Disasi expressed enthusiasm for the move, noting the club’s positive direction and looking forward to playing at Selhurst Park.
