Argentina: Regional governments announce infrastructure and social programs

Various provincial and municipal governments across Argentina are implementing diverse public works and social initiatives. In Tucumán, Minister Marcelo Nazur announced a nearly 70% increase in the public works budget for 2027, focusing on housing, road networks, and a comprehensive water prevention plan to mitigate the El Niño phenomenon.

In Neuquén, Governor Rolando Figueroa presented an investment program exceeding 287 billion pesos to expand water and sanitation services, responding to rapid urban growth and a high volume of new building projects. Meanwhile, in Chubut, Governor Ignacio Torres requested the transfer of three national highway sectors to the province, proposing a 70 billion peso investment to repair critical routes.

Social and educational programs are also expanding. The Instituto del Deporte Chaqueño is strengthening cardiovascular health programs through free physical activities in various health centers. In Salta, Mayor Gustavo Saadi oversaw the distribution of prescription glasses to residents and inaugurated a new community space at Club Salta Central. Additionally, Misiones completed infrastructure repairs at EPET No. 21 in San Vicente following storm damage.
