Axel Kicillof signs cooperation agreements in Uruguay

Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof visited Montevideo, Uruguay, to meet with President Yamandú Orsi and participate in the Third Pan-American Congress. The visit focused on strengthening bilateral ties through several strategic cooperation agreements.

Key agreements include a partnership between the Scientific Research Commission (CIC) of Buenos Aires and the University of the Republic (Udelar) to promote joint research, teaching, and technological transfer. Additionally, an agreement was signed with Uruguay’s Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries to enhance agricultural production, quality certification, and food security, specifically targeting the reduction of food waste and supporting small producers.

During the visit, Kicillof addressed regional geopolitical changes and criticized the Argentine national government's reduction of funding for science and research, positioning the province as a supporter of institutional knowledge and innovation.
