AYANEO launches Pocket Micro 2 handheld with Snapdragon 865 processor

AYANEO introduced the Pocket Micro 2, a compact handheld gaming device that upgrades the original Pocket Micro with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, replacing the Helio G99. The new chip, built on a 7 nm process, promises up to 220 % more performance, enabling smoother emulation of systems such as GameCube, Dreamcast and Nintendo 64.

The Pocket Micro 2 retains the 3.5‑inch IPS LCD screen (960 × 640 pixels, 3:2 aspect ratio) but adds a larger 3 950 mAh battery – about a 52 % capacity increase – while the weight rises only to 248 g. It features recessed dual TMR analog sticks with LED lighting, non‑linear triggers, a fingerprint sensor on the power button, and customizable RGB lighting. The chassis uses a CNC‑machined aluminum midframe with a glass front and is offered in three colour options. Internally, the device ships with up to 8 GB RAM, up to 512 GB built‑in storage and supports micro‑SD expansion. Running Android 13, it provides four performance modes, programmable buttons and adjustable fan settings, though fan noise can be noticeable under heavy loads.
