Aydan Marko Papac attempts 827km Croatian coast run for world record

Australian-Croatian ultra-runner Aydan Marko Papac is attempting a Guinness World Record by running 827 kilometres along the entire Croatian coastline in under ten days. The challenge is scheduled to begin at 5:00 am on Monday, 24 August 2026, at the Savudrija Lighthouse, the northernmost point of the coast.

The run will conclude at Fort Prevlaka on the southern coastal frontier. Beyond the record attempt for the fastest crossing of Croatia on foot, the mission serves as a tribute to Papac’s late grandfather, Jandre Bilić. The run aims to raise awareness and support for Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), a rare and incurable brain disease that caused Bilić’s death.
