Aydın police crackdown nets 43 arrests and large drug seizure

Between 18 May and 31 May 2026, the Aydın Provincial Police conducted intensive field operations across the province. The investigations resulted in 120 people being detained, of whom 43 were transferred to judicial authorities and imprisoned.

The crackdown solved 54 theft cases, initiated legal action against 74 individuals involved in cybercrime, and seized 342 g of illicit drugs along with numerous weapons, including 11 pistols and 8 hunting rifles. Traffic inspections checked 49,331 vehicles, imposing penalties on 11,640 drivers and removing 251 unsafe vehicles from the road.

The police emphasized that these measures are part of an ongoing effort to maintain public safety and will continue across Aydın.
