ÇAYKUR launches second tea harvest on July 8, 2026 and orders producers to follow limits and appointments

Turkey’s tea board, ÇAYKUR, announced that the second surge of green‑tea harvesting will begin on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. The agency reminded that the first surge concluded on 28 June 2026 without incident.

Producers were urged to adhere strictly to daily purchase limits and the appointment‑based collection system to prevent congestion at processing factories. ÇAYKUR warned that unchecked queues could create chaos, lower tea quality and jeopardise the sustainability of tea cultivation. The board emphasized that limits will remain at their maximum levels throughout the second surge and highlighted the need for controlled harvesting due to expected favourable weather and higher mechanised‑harvest rates.

The statement concluded with wishes for a smooth season and reaffirmed the importance of coordinated planning for the continued abundance and prosperity of Turkey’s tea sector.
