In response to the quota system, some producers reported being forced into low-margin private-sector sales. Growers in the Black Sea region have called for an enforceable base price and the reinstatement of support premiums, noting that current returns often fail to cover rising input costs for fertilizer and labor.

Harvesting progressed through multiple stages: the first surge concluded in late June, followed by a second harvest starting 8 July. By late July, producers had delivered approximately 169,000 tonnes of young tea. Following the conclusion of the second harvest period, ÇAYKUR announced that the third fresh-tea harvest is scheduled to begin on 1 September 2026.

Separately, per-capita coffee consumption in Turkey is rising, projected to reach 2.2–2.5 kg by the end of 2026, driven by an expansion of coffee shops and home-brewing trends.
