ÇAYKUR hikes dry tea prices by 15% in July, total rise over 40%

ÇAYKUR announced an average 15% increase in dry tea prices effective 6 July 2026. The hike follows earlier increases of 10% on 8 April and 15% on 22 May, bringing the cumulative rise since the start of the year to roughly 40‑45%. New price lists have been sent to wholesalers and distributors, and the higher rates will be reflected on supermarket shelves.

The price change was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which earlier raised the procurement price for fresh tea by 37.6% to 35 TL per kilogram. Current retail prices for dry tea range between 280 TL and 350 TL per kilogram, with 500‑gram packs around 190 TL. The successive hikes affect millions of Turkish consumers, as tea is a staple food item.
