Ayodele Fayose threatens Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde over PDP feud
Former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose warned Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde that he would face a "political lesson" ahead of Nigeria's 2027 general elections. Speaking on Channels Television, Fayose accused Makinde of dismantling the South‑West structure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and appropriating his political base, saying the governor had "stolen the land of the deities" and would later be punished.
Fayose, a senior PDP figure, also criticised Makinde’s alleged presidential ambitions, calling the move a mistake that betrayed party trust. The remarks highlight growing tensions within the PDP in Nigeria’s South‑West as the party prepares for upcoming elections.
