Ayvalık municipality washes streets with foamy water in citywide clean‑up

The Ayvalık Municipality’s Cleaning Department carried out a citywide operation in which major thoroughfares were rinsed with foamy water to improve hygiene. Republic Square and Talatpaşa Street were among the areas scrubbed, leaving the streets visibly cleaner.

Crews worked night‑time after crowds had thinned, picking up litter and applying disinfection and pest‑control treatments along streets and the coastal strip. Mayor Mesut Ergin said the department runs a weekly program to keep high‑traffic zones clean, noting that “we are on the field day and night for a cleaner, more orderly Ayvalık.”
