Azealia Banks schedules Tel Aviv performance for October

American rapper Azealia Banks is scheduled to perform at the Tel Aviv Amphitheater on October 8. Banks is currently in Israel working on new music with local producer Yinon Yahel.

Her return to Israel follows a period of controversy regarding her political stances. Banks has identified as a Zionist and has previously criticized the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, labeling cancellation demands as “totally antisemitic.” She has also questioned the nature of Black solidarity with Palestine, expressing skepticism regarding the benefits of such an alliance.

This performance comes amid a broader divide within the hip-hop community concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, contrasted by other artists such as Macklemore, who has taken vocal pro-Palestine stances during recent performances.
