Azerbaijan and Laos strengthen ties through new diplomatic agreements

Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith conducted his first official visit to Azerbaijan, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. During the visit, President Ilham Aliyev and President Sisoulith adopted a Joint Declaration and signed several documents aimed at expanding cooperation in agriculture and implementing mutual visa waivers for service passport holders.

Azerbaijani officials, including National Assembly Speaker Sahiba Gafarova, emphasized the importance of this visit for developing inter-parliamentary relations and increasing trade turnover. Discussions highlighted potential for growth in sectors such as energy, mining, transport, and education. There are also calls for organizing an Azerbaijan-Laos business forum to facilitate direct connections between entrepreneurs and encourage investment projects.
