Azerbaijan condemns provocation outside embassy guest house in Russia

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has issued a strong condemnation following a provocation outside the guest house of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia. On August 27, unidentified individuals reportedly displayed provocative images targeting Azerbaijan near the facility.

Baku suggested the incident might be an attempt to artificially strain relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, or part of a biased campaign conducted by certain Russian media outlets. The ministry called on Russian authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation and provide a legal assessment of the act.

Azerbaijan emphasized that Russia must fulfill its obligations under the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations to ensure the safety and security of the embassy, its personnel, and to prevent actions that interfere with the diplomatic mission's normal functioning.
