Azerbaijan deepens parliamentary ties with Turkey and Yemen

During the 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Baku, Azerbaijan’s parliamentary speaker Sahiba Gafarova met separately with Turkey’s Grand National Assembly speaker Numan Kurtulmuş and Yemen’s House of Representatives speaker Sultan Saeed Al‑Barakani.

Both meetings highlighted the role of inter‑parliamentary cooperation in strengthening bilateral relations. The speakers praised the high level of existing ties, noted mutual solidarity, and discussed expanding friendship groups and collaborative work within OIC and non‑aligned parliamentary networks.

The discussions underscored Azerbaijan’s aim to use parliamentary channels to deepen ties with regional partners, with Turkey and Yemen expressing satisfaction over Azerbaijan’s organization of the conference and the broader cooperation framework.
