Azerbaijan expands diplomatic ties through visa agreements and regional talks

During the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov engaged in several high-level diplomatic meetings to strengthen international ties.

Azerbaijan signed visa liberalization agreements with Saint Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, and Benin. The agreements with Saint Kitts and Nevis and Antigua and Barbuda include mutual visa exemptions for diplomatic, official, and service passport holders, as well as ordinary passport holders. The agreement with Benin focuses on visa exemptions for diplomatic and service passport holders. These measures are intended to facilitate travel, expand interpersonal connections, and promote tourism.

Additionally, Minister Bayramov met with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein. The discussions focused on bilateral relations, regional stability in the Middle East, and cooperation within multilateral platforms. The two officials discussed upcoming international events, including the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) to be held in Azerbaijan this October, and cooperation regarding the upcoming Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit.
