Formula 1 confirms Azerbaijan Grand Prix dates for 2027

The FIA and Formula 1 have confirmed the 2027 World Championship calendar, which includes the Azerbaijan Grand Prix scheduled for September 24–26, 2027. The 2027 season will feature 24 races across five continents and an increase in sprint races from six to ten.

For the 2026 season, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held on Saturday, September 26, rather than the traditional Sunday. This shift was requested by Azerbaijani promoters and state institutions to avoid conflict with the country’s Remembrance Day on September 27, a day of national mourning for those lost during the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War.

Due to this schedule change, the Formula 2 support series will also undergo a modified format at the Baku City Circuit. The 2026 Formula 2 weekend will feature an expanded program including one free practice session, two qualifying sessions, one sprint race, and two main races.
