Azerbaijan hosts OTS religious meeting and signs UAE cooperation deals

The seventh meeting of the heads of Muslim religious authorities from the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on September 14. During the opening ceremony, Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims’ Board, highlighted the brotherhood among OTS member states, specifically noting the support provided by Turkic nations during Azerbaijan's reconstruction efforts in Karabakh. The eighth meeting is scheduled to take place in Türkiye.

Separately, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the National Security Advisor of the United Arab Emirates, in Baku. The meeting focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the UAE. Following the discussions, several agreements were signed, including a cooperation agreement between Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and Azerbaijan Green Energy Company for renewable energy projects, and a strategic cooperation agreement between Azerbaijan Investment Holding and L’IMAD Holding Company. Additionally, AzerGold and Terra Mining Ltd signed an agreement for mineral resource exploration in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
