Azerbaijan marks State Sovereignty Day, commemorating the full restoration of its sovereignty following the local anti-terrorist measures conducted in the Karabakh region on September 19-20, 2023. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these operations, which lasted less than 24 hours, successfully disarmed Armenian armed forces remnants and secured the country's territorial integrity.

The Ministry emphasized that this victory has created new political realities and opportunities for normalizing relations with Armenia and ensuring lasting peace in the region. To honor the day, the Azerbaijani military held various commemorative events, including moments of silence for fallen soldiers and visits to the graves of martyrs.

Simultaneously, the process of repopulating the liberated territories is accelerating. According to the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, approximately 100,000 citizens are now living, working, or studying in these areas. In the first eight months of this year alone, 3,350 families, totaling 13,778 individuals, were relocated to the regions.
