Azores Airlines privatization attracts multiple international bidders
The deadline for submitting non-binding proposals for the privatization of Azores Airlines is set for this Monday. SATA Holding has reported receiving eight expressions of interest from a diverse group of entities, including airlines, financial investors, and sector-related companies from both national and international markets.
Of these, six candidates met the necessary tender requirements and have been invited to submit their non-binding proposals. Any candidate seeking to acquire at least 75% of the airline must provide a financial proposal in euros, detailing the acquisition price, capitalization contributions, and funding methods. Additionally, bidders must submit a technical proposal featuring a strategic plan aimed at strengthening the Azores aviation hub or promoting regional connections.
Following the receipt of binding proposals, SATA Holding will coordinate an evaluation report for the independent privatization supervisor, economist Augusto Mateus, who will then provide a formal opinion to the board of directors.
