Azores and Madeira expect rainy spell through early July

The Azores archipelago will face heightened atmospheric instability as a nearby low‑pressure area brings intermittent weak to moderate rain to most islands, especially the western group, until Tuesday. Precipitation totals are expected to be higher there, while conditions should gradually improve after Friday morning.

In contrast, Madeira will mostly remain dry, with only brief periods of light rain possible on the north coast between Thursday and Friday and again on Tuesday. Sunday, 19 July, is forecast to be very cloudy in the north of the island, while the south stays relatively clear. Winds will be light in Funchal (under 15 km/h) and from the north‑northeast elsewhere, with sea‑state up to one metre on the north coast. The UV index is very high, reaching 9 on Madeira and 8 on Porto Santo.
