Azores launches tender to revise Regional Land Management Plan

The Azores Government has launched a public tender to revise the Regional Land Management Plan (PROTA). The project has a base price of approximately 360,000 euros, excluding VAT, and an expected execution period of 36 months.

The revision is being initiated 16 years after the current plan's implementation to address significant economic, social, cultural, and environmental transformations within the region. An assessment of the existing instrument identified inconsistencies with current European, national, and regional policies, as well as misalignments with the territorial evolution of the Azores. Additionally, several previous norms and projects were found to be outdated or already completed.

This revision is a key goal of the LIFE IP CLIMAZ project, which is co-financed by the European Union through the LIFE Program. Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Food, António Ventura, stated that the update is a fundamental step toward providing the Azores with a management tool capable of responding to the challenges of the coming decades.
