Azul Linhas Aéreas expands commercial flight operations in Brazil

Azul Linhas Aéreas has announced several expansions to its domestic flight network in Brazil. The airline's regional subsidiary, Azul Conecta, will introduce a seasonal route between Campo de Marte airport in São Paulo and Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro. Scheduled to begin on December 27, 2026, the service will utilize Cessna C208EX Grand Caravan aircraft, which carry up to nine passengers. This move restores commercial passenger operations to Campo de Marte, an airport that has not hosted such services since the 1930s.

Additionally, Azul will resume direct flights between Pelotas Airport and Viracopos International Airport in Campinas, starting October 26. These flights, operated with Embraer aircraft capable of carrying 136 passengers, will run on Mondays and Fridays. The route aims to connect the southern region of Rio Grande do Sul to the industrial and logistical hub of Campinas, providing passengers with easier access to international networks via Viracopos.
