B2B marketplaces and partner programs undergo digital transformation

The business-to-business (B2B) landscape is undergoing significant structural changes through the rise of digital marketplaces and the modernization of partner ecosystems.

B2B marketplaces are transforming commerce by providing centralized online platforms that connect businesses with suppliers and customers. These platforms aim to increase transparency, allowing companies to compare pricing and quality, while streamlining procurement processes to reduce costs and expand market reach.

Simultaneously, organizations are reassessing their partner programs to keep pace with evolving ecosystems. Research indicates that many current programs, which have existed for an average of 6.4 years, were designed for smaller, transactional-focused relationships. As ecosystems become more diverse and include nontransactional contributors, two-thirds of B2B organizations plan to rearchitect or significantly update their partner programs within the next 12 months to improve profitability and align investments with measurable business outcomes.
