Bac Ninh and Hai Phong drive Vietnamese industrial and economic development
Bac Ninh is experiencing significant economic growth, with a projected GRDP increase of 11.81% for the first nine months of 2026. The province ranks fourth nationally in growth, driven by a 13.87% increase in the industrial and construction sectors. Key economic drivers include its strategic location near the capital region and plans for the Gia Binh International Airport to enhance logistics and trade services. Total import-export turnover is estimated at $177.8 billion, with foreign direct investment ranking fourth in the country.
In Hai Phong, the city is prioritizing vocational education reform to support its transition into a modern industrial and maritime economy. The city’s strategic plan through 2030 aims to train 16,000 intermediate and college-level students, focusing on high-tech industries, maritime economics, logistics, and tourism. The initiative seeks to develop high-quality vocational training that meets international standards, specifically targeting competitiveness within the ASEAN-4 and G20 levels.
