Bac Ninh launches province-wide traffic safety initiative
Bac Ninh authorities have launched a comprehensive “Safe Ward and Commune” traffic safety model across the province. The initiative aims to reduce traffic accidents based on three criteria: the number of incidents, fatalities, and injuries. Additionally, the plan targets a minimum 5% reduction in total traffic law violations.
The model will be implemented across 100% of residential areas, schools, administrative agencies, and industrial zones. Key strategies include increasing the responsibility of local leaders, enhancing legal propaganda, and improving driver skills through police guidance. Authorities will also intensify patrols to crack down on high-risk behaviors such as alcohol consumption, speeding, and overloading, while utilizing urban surveillance cameras for transparent “cold fines.”
Progress milestones include completing legal commitment signings for all households, students, and employees by October 30, 2026. The province also aims to complete the construction of 100% safe residential groups by December 15, 2026. Recent data from the first nine months of 2026 showed positive trends, with accidents decreasing by 15.1%, fatalities by 20.4%, and injuries by 29.5% compared to the previous year.
