Bac Ninh officials prosecuted for illegal state land sales

Authorities in Bac Ninh province have prosecuted the former Party Secretary and Village Head of Cau Treo, Viet Yen Ward, for abusing their positions to illegally exchange and sell state-managed land.

Between 2014 and 2020, Nguyen Thi T. (former Village Head) and Nguyen Van P. (former Party Secretary) organized the unauthorized sale of land. While the duo collected over 507 million VND, which was reportedly used for local welfare projects, the illegal transactions caused an estimated loss of more than 545 million VND to the state budget.

The People's Procuracy of Region 2 has approved the decision to prosecute the individuals and issued search warrants for their residences. Investigations are ongoing to identify other involved parties.
