Bac Ninh prepares for implementation of new Urban Development Law

Bac Ninh officials are preparing to implement the new Urban Development Law, which was passed by the National Assembly on August 24 and is set to take effect on October 1, 2026. The law consists of five chapters and 66 articles, establishing a new institutional framework with increased decentralization to allow local authorities to resolve bottlenecks and mobilize resources for development.

At a recent conference, the Ministry of Justice introduced key provisions and new policies that will directly impact the province. Discussions focused on urban management, housing, the establishment of free trade zones, and integrated logistics hubs. The law is expected to provide a legal basis for Bac Ninh to expand its urban space and drive innovation through science, technology, and digital transformation as the city undergoes rapid urbanization.
