Bac Ninh Province approves nearly $7 billion in new investment projects

Local authorities in Bac Ninh Province announced the approval of 48 investment projects with a total registered capital of 179.374 trillion VND (about $6.93 billion). The projects are grouped into four priority areas: urban development, service and essential infrastructure (14 projects worth nearly $4.1 billion, including large urban districts, inland logistics ports, a vaccine plant and private hospitals); social housing (14 projects totaling about $1.48 billion, expected to deliver roughly 27,900 apartments for workers and low‑income residents); industrial‑park infrastructure (five projects valued at around $314 million); and foreign direct investment (seven new FDI firms receiving certificates for $243 million and eight existing FDI projects approved to increase capital by about $795 million).

The approvals were presented at a ceremony launching Bac Ninh’s urban master plan through 2050, with a vision to 2075 and the province’s new status as a Class I urban area. Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Thái, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Pham Hoang Son and Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh highlighted the need to accelerate key infrastructure such as the planned Gia Binh Airport, railway links to Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Dong Dang and Hai Phong, and to promote transit‑oriented, sustainable and digital development. The province aims to become a hub for semiconductors, chip manufacturing, artificial intelligence and modern logistics, building on more than $13.8 billion of investment commitments in the first seven months of 2026, including $2.7 billion in FDI, ranking fourth nationwide.
